The Rivertowns Rotary Club is currently involved in several projects that directly impact our local communities!

We are currently involved in several projects that directly impact our local communities. Here are a few examples.

1. The American Cancer Society's Quad Village Relay for Life
Rivertowns Rotary is building a team of volunteers to solicit pledges to super the American Cancer Society's research activities. On May 20-21 we will be walking the track at Mercy College (Dobbs Ferry) for a 12 hour period to create awareness of the need to fight cancer locally. If you are interested in joining our team or making a donation, please contact our Team Captain, Tim Allport, at 914-960-9182 or PORTS4144@aol.com. Everyone is welcome to join us and help in our fight against cancer.

2. High School Scholarships
AS it has for nearly 25 years, Rivertowns Rotary will again provide a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior in each of the four high schools in our communities. Each awardee is carefully selected based on service to the community, financial need, and scholarship. Over the years we have helped support over 90 students to obtain a college education and continue on with their efforts to serve people. If you would like to help us in our efforts to assist these young people, please contact our Secretary, Tom Minozzi, at 914-478-1188 or TMinozzi@aol.com.

3. Christmas Toys for Kids
Sometimes holidays can be times of disappointment for children whose parents can't afford to buy gifts for the family. Last December, thanks to gift donations from members of our communities, Rivertowns Rotary was able to supply presents for 106 children who otherwise might not have had a happy holiday. Local businesses were a great help by volunteering to have gift drop boxes located in their establishments for several weeks. We look forward to teaming up again this coming December to spread happiness to kids. For more information or to make a donation, please contact our club Santa Claus, Bill Florin, at 914-693-9482 or pwflorin@optonline.net.
